“Spot-on Hostel for Solo Travelers!”

ust back from Zhangjiajie and must rave about Rate Edinburgh Hostel—proper gem for solo adventurers! The owner, Mr. Li, is an absolute legend! Speaks fluent English, sorted out train tickets and hiking maps before I’d even finished my tea. Dead helpful without being overbearing—felt like staying with a knowledgeable mate. If you’re solo-tripping Zhangjiajie? Do NOT overthink it. Brilliant chats, top advice, proper character. Worth every penny!

Rooms were very nice and as pictured. Location was very central, walking distance to restaurants. the cableway to Tianmen mountain and near the bus stop for the forest. The team were very helpful and booked our tickets for both tours.

Extremely close to the cable way up to Tianmen Mountain only about a 15-minute walk. The staff are extremely nice, especially since we lost our key card and very kindly gave us another without additional charge. The breakfast was also quite nice and filling. She also gave us some tips about visiting around Zhangjiajie. Sadly, the National Forest Park was closed for the 3 days we were there.
