The island of Gulangyu is a fantastic place to stay, and this hotel was well located on the island. The hotel had a fantastic boutqiue feel, with very accommodating and friendly staff, clean and well designed rooms, good AC, local cuisine for breakfast, and a lovely boutique art shop in the hotel as well. We travelled with friends and family (including a small child) and everyone enjoyed their stay. Additionally, there is plenty close to the hotel including restaurants, convenience stores and other shops.

Staff before arrival were super helpful, as they were during our stay. The location is great, and the bed sheets much better quality than I was expecting. We had the room with a view overlooking Sunlight Rock which was stunning. Breakfast was a little to local for my liking but it was as I expected it to be. We really enjoyed out three nights, and would happily return.

The breakfast was nice. The host obliged and made coffee for us on request. I was expecting a room on the ground floor but we have to climb to level 3. However, host helped us with our cabin case. By china standard, the room is a little small. if only the weather is dry and warmer, we could enjoy some time in the balcony with nice view of the sunshine rock. i find the location a bit far from the ferry pier. a good 15-20 mins walk with a stretch uphill from the pier. Luckily our luggage is not heavy. Visitors to gulangyu should know there is no traffic on this island. We spent 2 nights here. There was light rain on both days till the morning on departure day. Recommend a day trip. Can buy ferry ticket on the fly when dry weather is in forecast.
