The manager was friendly and helpful, and cafes, supermarkets etc were in easy walking distance. It was close to the Kawatiri Trail for us too. We also liked the balcony off our unit.

Good for 1 or 2 night stay I think. It's quite basic and a bit rundown/old but comfortable enough. Close to shops and quiet overnight.
