Very friendly atmosphere, excellent appartmann, outstanding breakfast, very nice stuff. The breakfasts were far beyond the majerity of five star hotels! It is a very good feeling to experience such a good service (especially these days when money is the king and nothing else means)!

Breakfasts were great. There was a possibility to buy local products directly in a hotel 24/7. The staff was very pleasant and kind.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Donauwirt! Our room was lovely decorated and pefectly clean, equipped with nice furniture and a proper sized bathroom with shower and tub. The owners are really nice and friendly people, hard working and allways there to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast in the lovely garden in front of the hotel was a highlite! Nice coffee, good selection of different teas and a buffet of fresh specialities from the region. Tip: Try the various home made jams on freshly baked bread! A highly reccomendable place to stay in the heart of the Wachau. Perfectly situated to explore the lovely Weissenkirchen and the rest of the fantastic Wachau. There is a hotel car park should you come by car, otherwise the train station is very close and the bus stop is just over the street. The river Danube is 100m in front of the hotel and there is even a small sandy beach. Although the hotel doesn't have a restaurant anymore you will find delicious food and top wines in the various Heurigens or restaurants nearby. If you have a sweet tooth I'd recommend the coffee shop "Konditorei Elisabeth". As big lover of everything with poppy seeds my favourite were the "Mohnzelten".
