I stayed one night at Vang Vieng Camelia Hotel and was very comfortable. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and strong air-con—perfect after a hot day out. The location is ideal, just a short walk to the river, restaurants, and bars, but still quiet enough at night for a good sleep. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and check-in was quick and easy. For a budget-friendly spot, it felt like great value. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in Vang Vieng.

Location pretty good, it’s quite far from the train station but very close to probably the main good restaurants in the area. Staff very pleasant all the time. Good breakfast with great array of fresh fruit and juice each morning. Overall I think it’s good value.

Lovely place and hosts. Alex and Daisy were very kind and helpful. We enjoyed chatting with them. Daisy arranged our hot air balloon tour with Above Laos (brilliant, so it!) and our scooter. All great. Room was fine. A little warm as facing west, but we had a cracking sunset view! Nice little breakfast/hanging area. Breakfast was good (freshly cooked stuff is largely egg based, but plenty of options). Liked the part of town - felt quite chilled and a bit more local vibes compared to to the centre. More generally, VV was great. Despite its party town history (and no doubt current party options) we went for the nature and were blown away. Great to explore on the scooter (get to lagoon 4 early, which is lovely, and check out the surrounding villages). The balloon ride is totally worth it. Could have stayed longer at Camelia and VV generally.
