Marcus “Great communications, good value, great location, quiet and spacious apartment, parking was a pain”

We'd hired an apartment for this part of our trip, I'm not quite sure why but there must have been some logic at the time. When we arrived we found it had no parking though which really annoys me as I always select the parking as a filter on Booking.com and for the first night we parked 20 minutes walk away, although we were a lot closer the second night. You can park in the streets nearby, if there is a space (we never saw one) , but you have to pay on a meter. If you park across the other side of the river it is free. Initial communications were with someone who spoke excellent English but when we got the keys it was from a lady who spoke no English at all and her Spanish was so rapid Mum could barely make out any words and the translation app just shrugged its digital shoulders. The apartment was on the 5th floor of an old building, nice inside and luckily it had a lift! The roof was low but nothing you can't deal with. There were limited plug sockets but wifi was good, it was well laid out and there was lots of tourist info. The apartment was quiet, had a nice bathroom and everything we needed was there. It was also a good base to explore the city and surrounding countryside. The price was excellent too.
