He “safe and warm, like home”

The host and his wife are super nice people, they treat us like friends instead of consumers. The family run a restaurant with cheap prices and good food, but since we miss Chinese food, we buy food to cook by ourself. The wife helped us cook, we use everything in the kitchen. Also My boyfriend got injured, they took care of him nicely. They do not charge us or try to charge us on any helps/medicine/information/food/... Also staying at the room looking outside is super! This place obviously is not a luxury homestay, but we really feels like home, safe and warm. Recommend to budget travelers and backpackers!

Lovely room with a/c. The hosts were very lovely and the hoppers for breakfast were delicious. Would recommend. Walking distance to jungle beach and a short tuktuk to galle fort!

Very friendly host family and sparkling clean facilities. We were able to check-in early already in the morning at no extra charge. Even though we had a power outage due to a storm, the family made sure that we had no issues (messaged us asking if we need anything, setting up candles in the house). Yummy Sri Lankan breakfast. Very strong fan in the room.

Our stay at House 73 was one of a kind! The room was great. AC was perfect and it was very clean. The host is amazing. She’s so lovely and caring and helpful. We loved her food!! Breakfast is included, which is really nice and we had the option to book dinner as well. We had dinner there every night for a good price. We have never had such delicious Sri Lankan food before. We already miss her food! 😁 Everyday she cooked something different for us so we got the whole experience. She was so nice and we talked a lot even after our meals! Her kids are lovely as well. Overall we had such a great time staying at House 73 and we can only recommend staying with the family if you’re looking for a real Sri Lankan experience. Thank you so much!
