My daughter wanted to stay in a Japanese style accommodations so we opted for the Kamagowa. The location is excellent, just the right balance of backstreet meets tourism. The staff we attentive and welcoming and looked after us. We particularly enjoyed the hot bath and relaxing games in the parlor.

I wanted to start our stay in Japan with a traditional Ryokan and I’m so glad that I chose this one. The location was unbeatable, so close to the temple, shopping street and restaurants and bars. The beds were so comfortable and the onsen was lovely after a long day walking. The staff were amazing and so helpful. A big shout out to Endo who helped us arrange for our bags to be sent ahead of us to Kyoto. He went above and beyond for us. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a Ryokan style accommodation.

Hotel is located in the hart of Asakusa area. Comparing to Shinjuku it is packed with tourist and tourist attractions (shops, restaurants, temples). It is a right place if you 're looking for this type of adventure. Hotel is done very well but it is not a hardcore Ryokan. Rules are quite relaxed comparing to what we read in the internet. The bath is nice to have in the afternoon after a busy day. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Everybody speak English. There is a common area with snacks and games. We used it for breakfast and spend some free time with children. We enjoyed our stay.
