The fine print
Based on local tax laws, guests with a tourist visa to Israel are exempted from paying VAT for their reservation. Israeli citizens and residents ("non tourists" as defined in the VAT law) must pay VAT. This tax is automatically calculated in the total cost of the reservation for domestic customers. This hotel is an excellent value for its price. It is clean, quiet and full of historic information and artifacts. The rooms/beds were comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. The manager, Oren was approachable and helpful! I recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

We were surrounded by the atmosphere of old times because the museum of Donna Gracia. The furniture in the lobby and corridors was ancient and beautiful. The ceilling was high. There was a lot of air and space outdoors. The corridor on our floor is wide with picture paintings on the walls and with benches near the coffee tables. At the morning we had a nice breakfast. There were two coffee machines with different tastes and toast maker. The hotel is close to the embankment and situated in the old Tiberias.

This was a The Grand Budapest Hotel experience. a totally wacky decor and everyone was very nice including one of the young, grouchy hotel desk clerks. The room had a nice view of the lake and was super-clean. The breakfast, when served was delicious. It was a real treat for a solo traveller like me. One morning there weren't enough guests so they gave us a voucher to go to Kugele's restaurant and it was even better.
