This house is situated in the really lovely part of Takayama, and still really close to the center. It’s a quaint house with everything you need. The futons were really comfortable compared with others we’ve stayed on during our trip in Japan.

Such a beautiful classic family house. So much better feeling than commercial accomodation. Anyone visiting Takayama must try to book this lovely authentic home!

It was lovely to experience a traditional machiya house, and all the facilities were there for complete self-catering if we would have liked. The living room/kitchen was very comfortable and cozy to hang out in when it had been heated up. Once we figured out the coded door lock it was also very convenient to be able to do self-check in and check out, and though the little road into the parking area is rather narrow, it was not difficult to find the right parking space.
