Spacious room with comfy bed. It was possible to do laundry and dry it for free. Guests are allowed up the roof even if the bar is closed.

The location was good -overlooking a historic site in Takayama and right in the center of town, within walking distance to the famous tourist road. We especially loved the rooftop terrace, which seemed to be the only one in town and is open to everyone, not just guests. Feedback: add chairs or a proper seating area up there to make it more enjoyable. The fully equipped kitchen was a big plus—we used it to cook some amazing Hida beef, which we highly recommend trying. We also used the laundry service. A special mention to Gaston, who works there-he was incredibly kind and welcoming, and truly one of the nicest people we met during our JP trip.
