The fine print
A surcharge of EUR 30 applies for arrivals from 19:30 until 22:00. After 22:00 late check-in comes at a surcharge of EUR 50. All requests for late arrival are subject to confirmation by the property.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.
Payment before arrival via bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions.

The location is absolutely stunning! The first bedroom has wonderful views and is fine. The property was clean.

The apartment (Arethusa, one of 4 apartments in Villa Amateia) was really lovely, it was clean and had two bathrooms and two double beds. One en-suite bathroom for the main double bedroom and a second bathroom to be used by the those using the double bed on the mezzanine level above the livingroom. It was really clean and there was plenty of hot water and towels for us to use. The bedroom had a balcony overlooking the wonderful sea and there was a small terrace off the side of the apartment too. The sea is just by the apartment and it was the most incredibly swimming conditions, calm and clear and hot water and there were no one around, we had the sea to ourselves. No other bathers, no boats, no paddle boards etc, it was heaven. Please note that there is no beach (a short stretch of rocks covered in seaweed need to be stepped over to get into the water), but it was easy to get into the sea and we did not miss a sandy beach. It was really quiet and a really lovely place to stay if you just want to relax on a balcony and do some swimming. Truly wonderful views over the sea from the apartment. Concetta, the person we liaised with about the rental, was incredibly helpful before and during our stay, she always responded quickly by WhatsApp and in fluent English so this was really easy. She helped with a taxi and also how to buy bus tickets when we enquired. The key broke in the door one day and she got someone out within hours to fix it with no issues - thank you! You can take a bus (the no 23) into Syracuse for €1.20 for a single and you can buy the tickets online. The bus leaves from a road 10min walk from the department and it took 25mins on the bus. The bus only leaves every 1.5hrs but was always on time so can be relied upon. A taxi to Syracuse costs €40 so the bus is a much cheaper option. There is a small shop (Market Fanusa) 15min walk from the apartment where we were able to buy bread, cheese, salami, loo roll etc.
