The food quality and taste were great and freshly cooked. We were a group of 11, and there was something for everyone. I often thought I was not going to find something, but by the time I was sitting down, I always had a lovely plate of food to eat. The kids loved the afternoon pancakes / waffles / doughnuts that were freshly made beside the pool in the afternoon. The staff were friendly and attentive. Some were a little shy, but all were polite. There were tip boxes around the hotel. We asked at reception how the tips were distributed but found it confusing. There are tip boxes at reception and a tip box at the lobby bar. There are two tip boxes at the restaurant, one for the kitchen (not sure if it gets shared or if it all goes to the head chef) and a second, which I think was for the restaurant waiting staff, but not sure if it might be for the manager only. I went to look for a tip box at the pool bar, but they said they didn't have one and that we were supposed to tip staff directly. Felt so bad then as I just gave a tip to one guy and asked him to share it. The beach was a quick 5 minute walk with decent clothes shopping en route, and the lovely town of Side with great shopping, the temple and amphitheatre were a lovely 15 minute stroll away via the promenade.
