We spent 5 nights at the Blue Dot Eco Hostel, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip through Colombia. Daan, the owner, is super friendly and took a lot of time for us. The hostel is still under construction, but that makes it all the more exciting – you can see creative, sustainable ideas popping up everywhere, and it feels like being part of something that's just beginning to grow. Waking up to the view of the jungle trees was pure magic. The food is vegan, homemade, and really affordable. Don’t miss the fermented pineapple lemonade – it’s absolutely delicious! The river is a dream – crystal clear, beautiful, with spots to jump in, swim, and even some boulders to climb on. Daan also took us on a mini adventure tour where we abseiled from a bridge and floated down the river – unforgettable! The website says it’s a no-smoking place, but as long as you don’t smoke inside and clean up after yourself, everything is chill. The way up to the hostel is already part of the fun: first a mototaxi ride from the Lost City entrance, then a ride over the river in a cable cart – and right on the other side, Daan’s three dogs greet you with wagging tails. Yes, the mosquitos can be a bit vicious, but hey – that’s the jungle! We never got bored and would’ve loved to stay longer. Thanks, Daan & crew - we had a blast

After a chill moto ride in the jungle with nice sights, I got welcomed by a wonderful meal and as a big eater I was totally fulfilled everytime ! Dann, the volunteers, the doggies and other guests were all super chill and we enjoyed communal meals and some activities together.. projector movie on hammocks in the middle of the jungle beats cinema! I also had a lot of fun exploring the river... great to workout in including some cool climbing spots where you jump in the water when you fall 👌 Definitely a great spot to take a pause and reconnect to the energy of nature and simple pleasures. The starlink internet is on point though hehe. Thank you and may the next guest enjoy ! Ps... don't forget to go barefoot!

We had such a great time staying at Daan's eco hostel. He's worked hard with his team to build something beautiful. Getting there is an adventure which adds to the experience. You really feel like you have traveled somewhere unique
