We had a truly enjoyable stay at Hotel Central Santa Maria. The location is perfect—right in the centre of town and just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. It made exploring Santa Maria incredibly convenient. The staff were the highlight: friendly, helpful, and always ready with a smile. They made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a good bed, air conditioning, and a balcony. The Wi-Fi worked well, and we would like to convey special thanks to Lucy, who was extremely helpful and a lovely lady always with a smile. Very courteous and friendly. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, with several options to choose from. While some areas of the hotel under renovation, everything was well maintained and functional. Being centrally located, there can be a bit of street noise in the evening, but nothing that disturbed our rest. Overall, it is a great value for money and a charming place to stay if you want a more authentic, local experience in Cape Verde.

Fresh hotel in a good location. Very comfortable beds and pillows. No matter how long I let the water run, I never got even lukewarm water from the tap nor the shower, it was always cold. Also very low pressure in the running water. Since I was travelling alone and would land at midnight I wanted to feel safe so I booked airport transfer via the hotel that didn’t show up so I ended up standing all alone at the airport in the middle of the night to solve the issue. After many phone calls I did eventually get help from the hotel staff but it took over an hour and was not smoothly handled by them.
