Really I suppose, it just depends what you want from an holiday. The road up to the apartment is is 3miles from top to street level, a car is definitely required, but get a small car with over an 1.2 engine. Otherwise you will struggle. You definitely need a car for this holiday. It was certainly a bucket list holiday, Alexandrite was a special kind of person who certainly wants to make your stay wonderous. it's not the Ritz, but a beautiful get away, not for the faint hearted, a fantastic view with a fantastic sun rise and sunset. We loved it and our black cat companion, if you really expect the Ritz this is not for you. if you want a real get away, with fantastic views and real adventure for the different kind of holiday. Then this is the place for you, but I have to be honest and I don't think Alexandrea will mind me saying. You will have to be quite fit to muster the steps to the apartment. But As an holiday maker we loved it, We all have different ideas of an holiday, and yes this is definitely different. But a car is a must. JUST ENJOY

Beautiful place. Perfect view, very beautiful inside and magical outside. The grill overlooking the ocean is unforgettable. We stayed for two days at this place - great opportunity to relax and enjoy the tranquility.

Fun, unusual place to stay. A comfortable cave. Great view down to the harbour of Santa Cruz. An even temperature, in January it didn't feel cold and should keep cool in summer. There's a regular bus service into Santa Cruz but it's a steep walk up from the bus stop. There is parking nearby and a car would be better How often do you get the chance to stay in a cave? Give it a try.
