The fine print
LOCAL TAX LAWS. Based on local tax laws, all Chilean citizens and resident aliens are required to pay an additional tax (IVA) of 19%. To be exempt from this additional tax, payment must be made in U.S. dollars (hopefully in cash) and a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented. This additional fee (VAT) is not included in the hotel rates and must be paid separately.Please note that payments at the hostel by credit or debit card incur a 3.8% fee which will be added to your total rate. We always recommend paying in cash to avoid extra charges. It is also advisable to check that your bills are in good condition, as San Pedro de Atacama rejects dollars with stains, stamps, wear and tear or cut bills.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

Perfect hot shower (important in a desert with water shortage). Triple room spacious enough but for two people. Impeccable cleaning. Simple but carefully prepared breakfast. Mini-market nearby for small needs. That said, Hostal Solor is an excellent choice if you want to stay in a quiet place, close to the bus station but only 10 minutes walk from the center.

The staff super nice and helpful Because of double booking they couldnt give is a double room instead they gave us a complete flat which supposed to be more expensive, but we paid nothing extra.
