Greatly enjoyed the one bedroom apartment, the views from the balcony, the friendly and helpful staff, the dinners seated under the trees, the refreshing swimming pool after a day of sightseeing. Enjoyed staying in a rural area with access to visiting nearby towns and cities

This property was near perfect for our needs. The apartment we stayed in was cool, clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was plain, simple and rustic in style and we loved that. The pool was great with wonderful views - the views were fabulous altogether. The agri-ristorante was open most evenings when we were there and we ate there four times - twice outside under the trees with magical fairy lights and twice inside in the restaurant. The food was wonderful - simple, authentic and delicious and accompanied by their own wines. It was ideally placed to visit Certaldo Alto and San Gimignano by car (you will need a car here) and Florence/Firenze and Siena by train (Italian trains are really easy to use). This is a family business and it shows. Sara in particular was incredibly helpful during our stay. It is worth noting that Casa Alle Vacche is first and foremost a working vinyard. On the plus side this means lush countryside, wine tastings and great wine available. Other people have commented negatively on the farming equipment that mars the view and tractors spoiling the peace and quiet but the intrusion is minimal and we liked the gentle bustle of work around us. They were harvesting the grapes when we were there so it was possibly at its busiest but still not a problem . It is real not “theme park” Tuscany and if you like things real you will love it as much as we did.

If you’re looking for a genuine Tuscan countryside experience - this is it! Staff is absolutely lovely. Andrea held a free wine tasting for the guests where we learnt a lot! The ragu was the best we’ve had. Great wine. Close to medieval cities such as San Gimignano and Certaldo.
