The welcome we received at Logis Maison Vauban was superb: when we checked in, we were given a map, and were recommended different restaurants and bars, told the sunset time and location, and also the tide times for the walk to Le Grand Bé. We had a triple room on the top floor, and it was exceptionally clean and wonderfully spacious, with a big roof window that opened out for fresh air, and to hear the cathedral bells tolling. The ensuite shower room was snug, but well equipped with hair dryer, big, fluffy towels, and toiletries. The beds (single and double) were both very comfortable. The hotel is located inside an old building in Saint-Malo Intra-Muros, between the cathedral and Place du Québec. Despite visiting on a public holiday, either it was quiet or we were so tired from sightseeing we didn't hear anything - either way, we had a great night's sleep! We had arranged to leave our bag prior to check-in, but in the end didn't bother. We left before breakfast, so cannot comment on that except to say there is a separate breakfast room that was laid out beautifully. Logis Maison Vauban was such brilliantly good value that when we return to Saint-Malo, we hope to be able to stay here again.

Was a great location, right in the heart of the walled city. The staff was really informative and gave great recommendations on how to spend the evening in St Malo.
