The room was excellent and the shower would have to be the best shower ever. Amazing views from shower, room and veranda. Exceeded my expectations by a mile!! And the staff were wonderful. Excellent location for Akagera National Park.

We had an amazing stay at Lake Ihema Lodges and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Akagera area. The lodge is set in a beautiful, peaceful location overlooking Lake Ihema, offering breathtaking views, especially during sunrise and sunset. It was the perfect spot to unwind after game drives in Akagera National Park, which is only a short drive away. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a lovely natural style that blended perfectly with the surrounding environment. We appreciated the attention to detail, from the comfortable beds to the private balconies where we could sit and enjoy the stunning views. The staff at Lake Ihema Lodges were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we felt at home. Service was attentive but never intrusive, and we truly felt cared for throughout our stay. The food was a real highlight — fresh, delicious, and well-prepared, with a good variety at each meal. Dining with a view over the lake made every meal even more special. We also loved the peaceful atmosphere at the lodge. It was so relaxing to hear the sounds of nature all around — birds, hippos in the distance, and the occasional rustle of wildlife. It really made us feel connected to the beautiful landscape. It was the perfect mix of comfort, nature, and warm hospitality. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for the experience. We would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay near Akagera National Park.
