We, my two children (9 and 17 years) and I stayed at Villa Saarua for one week in October. We had a wonderful time. The villa is beautiful with many lovely details and well equipped with everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. Maria is a very attentive host and answered all of my questions even when I called her at unreasonable hours ;-). The hiking tips Maria gave us were terrific. We especially loved the hike up to Valtavaara and the bonfirehut along the way. My son even learnt how to chopp wood and make a fire from scratch. Nature around Ruka is incredible. Villa Saarua is a wonderful location to spent your holidays at and not only in winter time.

I found the host of the property to be very helpful and accommodating, and responded to a number of queries very promptly. The location was excellent, and the property was comfortable with plenty of space.

The cabin was really lovely, and looked just like the pictures. It's in an ideal location, close enough to the slopes, restaurants and supermarket, but far enough way for some peace and quiet. The cabin was warm, clean and cosy. We were a group of 8, and there was plenty of room for all of us. Great communication with the hosts, they even messaged us tourist information prior to our stay and were able to offer advice on ski hire etc. We had a really late arrival, and the hosts were kind enough to provide us with a few groceries so that we had something for breakfast. We particularly loved the log fire, and gorgeous view from the veranda. Thank you for a wonderful Christmas break!
