RICHARD “A perfect place to stay to explore central Rome on a budget”

Roman Nights is a small hotel/guesthouse within a huge, old building. The reception is located on the first floor in one part of the building, and the rooms around the corner in another part. This seemed strange at first, but it was fine. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, spoke fluent English, and their communication with us before and during our stay was excellent. Although not staffed 24hrs, they provided us with contact details in case of anything urgent. Breakfast is provided in a separate dining area, which was 8 euros for whatever you wanted from their continental selection - coffee, juice, croissants, pastries, bread, cereal, yogurt, fruit, cold meats, cheeses. The hotel is perfectly located - 15 mins walk to Roma Termini train station, less than 5 mins walk to Repubblica Metro station. There is a main bus stop almost outside the main entrance, with buses going all over the city centre, and a 30 minute walk from the hotel into the heart of the Centro Storico. Being on a main road, the area felt very safe, as did the whole of central Rome. There are several small supermarkets and various trattorias, bars, cafes etc nearby. We stayed in a 'small double' room; it was small, but this wasn't an issue, as that's what we booked. It was basic, but had all the amenities we needed - safe, fridge, kettle, air-con, en suite with a really good shower. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and although we were unsure whether the 'French bed' in the room would be adequate, it was fine for us, even staying 5 nights. The large double glazed windows allowed a good view onto the street, but did a superb job of keeping out any noise at night. The rooms have very high ceilings with characterful old beams, and parquet flooring, which we found quite unique. We were very happy with everything, and would definitely stay there again.

Good location and friendly staff , very secure at night, they have 2 locked doors in the apartment and 2Locked doors in front gate during 7pm-7am

Excellent location, near a metro station and a 10 minute walk from the main train station of Rome. Within walking distance of the coliseum, the Trevi fountain and more. The staff were very helpful and the room was always neat and tidy upon return in the evening.
