It is in the best location on the seaside promenade for beach swimming and access to Rethymno city center. The staff is very kind. The apartment is very nice, everything you need is available. There was a big bottle of cold water in the fridge when we arrived. It was a pleasant surprise that despite being an apartment, they cleaned every day and changed the towels after 2 days. The buffet breakfast was at the Olli beach restaurant at the bottom of the hotel, which had a sufficient selection, was fresh and delicious. We spent three nights at the hotel and had dinner here on all three nights because we were very satisfied with the selection and quality. The waiters were very nice, they greeted us like acquaintances on the second night and recommended the freshest seafood dishes.

Great location for a 20/30 minute slow stroll into the Old Town, fantastic for the beach opposite the hotel. For value for money we would return but what you should know. Stayed at The Steris Hotel from 24th June to 4th July. The room is suitable for a couple, the balcony is on the side and is only suitable for drying your towels and swimming trunks/costumes out, it’s small and compact. We are not the type unless it’s a full sea view to sit out on a balcony so did not bother us. The rooms are cleaned daily, towels changed every 2 days and bed linen every 3. The hotel charge you for everything. The beach towels are not complimentary as there is a charge of €3 per towel and if you change it, another €3 You have to pay for your safety deposit key, €15 for 10 days. In the room is a Nespresso coffee machine with 2 coffee and milk pods. Once used they are €0.50 cents each ! I don’t get frustrated by the charges however I do believe in transparency from a hotel when they advertise on booking.com or other sites as none of these are mentioned as chargeable. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. It is just over a mile walk to the old town. The beach is located opposite the hotel and you have use of the Sunbeds courtesy of Olli Restaraunt. As long as you spend €10 per bed they are free. There is beach service. This is excellent.

Partner and I had an amazing time, the hotel was all you could want and more. Staff could not do enough for you and its spotless. Amazing location, upgraded to a Sea view on arrival. Deano on arrival couldn't do enough to assist us. We are looking to now change our long haul to a further stay this year hopefully if bookings allow at the Steris. Could have easily stayed a few more weeks. Thankyou Steris
