Hernán is a great host and was extremely helpful with everything. I especially enjoyed the typical and healthy breakfast which he varied every day. The house is just a few steps from the colonial center of Quito.

The owner and his concierge took very good care of me. Unfortunately I had an emergency and had to go back to NY after only two nights. They went above and beyond making all the details as smooth as possible, helping me with a faulty phone, allowing me to call from their phones many times, finding a clinic and hours, good restaurants, plane ticket changes. I felt very safe and cared for. The building itself is an amazing antique mansion with 8 bedrooms. The brick and woodwork details are spectacular. And Blanca serves the most delicious breakfasts you can certainly not find in the US! Most of all, I appreciated the attention the owner gave to me. He even made sure I did a wonderful tour of Quito and its surroundings before leaving, even though I only had one day to do it. The Basilico, Teleferico, the Middle of the Earth Museum, the Indigenous museum on the 0 degree latitude line (!), amazing volcanoes where a small village exists in the crater, amazing food and warm-hearted people -- all this I would have missed if not for the kindness and help if the hotel owner. FIVE STARS
