We had a wonderful time here! Although we didn't meet anyone on arrival, we didn't need to. Full instructions plus a video were sent via WhatsApp. Also, our host offered to book a taxi for us to pick us up, making the whole thing super easy. Loved the little treats and port left in the kitchen area! Left up the main road gives a gentle incline up to the top of the street and the centre of Porto. Also easy to walk to Ribeira de Porto and view all the beautiful buildings, get boat rides, view the bridges, etc. It's also right by a bus stop to take you into the centre or further out (Matosinhos). Right by the old tramline too. Very scenic balcony view, where you can watch the world go by - including the boats on the river and the old trams. If you head right on the main road and walk for 15 mins, you get to a well stocked Bon Dia supermarket chain - great if you can't find what you need in local shops (try to shop independent!). As we stayed for Primavera Festival, the location was excellent for us as needed the 500 bus. Also, as we were out in the late afternoon til late evening, having this gorgeous apartment to relax in in the day time was bliss. Didn't feel like we were missing out being inside, as you can open all the doors and bring inside to you. Loads of plug sockets, comfy beds, and we were happy with the storage situation. I honestly loved the view so much and wish we could have stayed longer. TO NOTE It's one flight of stairs up, so if you need an elevator this isn't for you. There's also no air con, but many fans instead - and of course the big windows and doors. We were fine with the heat and humidity but others might not be prepared.
