Sérgio from reception was outstanding. Room is quite comfortable and spacious. Location is perfect, just few steps from 5 Avenue. Swimming pool at night was delightful after an exhaustive and hot day. Loved the decoration.

Rooms were nice, location was noisy and this can be a problem for sleeping. The lady on the front desk was lovely and helpful. Do not bother booking the included breakfast, you get sent to a cafe next door where you don’t have options and it’s just a few pieces of melon in a bowl and a few slices of bread. Also can only have coffee or water… and the staff are incredibly rude….

I recently stayed at Soho Playa Hotel in Playa del Carmen, and I have to say it is definitely not a 4-star hotel—more like a 2-3 star at best. The overall experience felt quite basic and precarious. The breakfast, served in a coffee shop next to the hotel, was very poor and disappointing. While the room was spacious and clean, there was a strong odor in the bathroom, and they do not provide hand towels—only toilet paper. The swimming pool was old, not very clean, and looked completely different from the pictures online. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the property itself is very low quality. They didn’t have a hairdryer in the room, and when I requested one, they gave me one with an extension wrapped in electrical tape—it looked like it could catch fire at any moment! Nothing happened, but it definitely shows how much they need to improve the quality of their amenities. We paid £75 per night, which isn’t too expensive, but for that price, I would have expected at least a more accurate hotel rating and better-maintained facilities. They really need to adjust their stars because it does not match the reality at all.
