Good value for money as the place is much cheaper than other places. It was nice that we could find a place where we could all stay together but still have our seperate bed rooms. It is a little far away from 5th but still walking distance. Angel the property manager doesn’t speak English but we did our best to communicate with him and he was so friendly and helpful with everything!

I had a super late check in due to problems at my previous hotel, and the hosts were right on top of it, meeting me at 11:30pm with keys in hand. The apartment at La Ceiba that I had booked wasn't ready, so they put me in the big 3 bedroom house with the pool instead for the night. One look at it and I asked if I could stay there the entire time instead, so they worked it out and met me the next day to sort out the details. I had the BEST stay at this place and was very sad to leave! The location is a little off the beaten path, which I actually preferred, having been to Playa many times staying in the midst of the hustle and bustle. Having this villa to retreat to every day was such a blessing. Having the private pool to myself was just amazing, and being that I had a dog with me, the walled courtyard couldn't be beat. I loved the privacy and felt SO at home here. The kitchen was nice, fully stocked with all the utensils you'd need. The AC worked well if you need it (I just turned the bedroom unit on at night). There is a security guard right on the corner of the building (outside) which added a nice sense of security. My dog even escaped one night (my fault) and the security guard caught her and kept her inside his booth until I got home, which I am forever grateful for. From now on, I'm only coming to Playa if this house is available. Everything was smooth from start to finish.

We really loved our stay at Villas La Ceiba that we extended our booking twice so instead of 2 nights we stayed for about 6 weeks! The location is great. It's easy to walk to 5th Avenue where we were attending the language school daily in August. It's also a great base for popping to Las Americas/Central Maya shopping malls or just popping down to Tulum/up to Cancun. We felt really safe and secure with the large gates and security cameras. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. The communication with the property was always excellent. We used google translate when talking or making arrangements in person which worked fine. The wifi speed was great and as we had our pug puppy she loved roaming around the garden and burning off energy. We will be recommending this accommodation to all our friends and family who may want to visit us now we have decided to relocate to Playa del Carmen on a long term basis.
