History of the building. The pool was lovely but we had a rainy day so couldn't use it. the staff seemed very nice.

This is beautiful Italian villa owned by the same family for 300 years, located in central Sicily near the town of Enna and the heritage site Roman ruins of a nobleman's villa. It has been lovingly converted into a spotless B&B hotel by its stylish proprietor, Nietta. She and her staff are universally warm, friendly and helpful, even arranging a guide to tour the ruins for us. All spoke some English and gladly helped me with my ghastly Italian. The property is gorgeous and lush, with walking paths, a long pool for laps and a pool house with beverages accounted for by honor system. There are only a few rooms, so it is uncrowded, quiet, restful and restorative. Ours was a former animal shelter restored with beautiful decor and ambience and a big, comfortable bed. Food was excellent, we ate dinner there both nights we stayed. We would love to return there with some friends.
