We got a free upgrade to a corner room on the 7th floor, excellent value. The rooms are smallish but beautifully designed. Very clean and comfortable, quality bedding and other finishes. The staff were very helpful and everything was easy and nice. The little rooftop pool has a great view, and the downstairs pool is great for a swim. Huge buffet breakfast, Asian and Western, excellent value (especially if it’s included as ours was). Next door is a Wat that houses a community who would otherwise have been displaced when the area was gentrified (if the monks hadn’t allowed them to stay within their walls). Fascinating right next to posh hotels and the party scene. I loved being able to easily explore these different elements of the new/old Phnom Penh.

Everything. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable. Bed large and comfortable with amazing pillows. Food and drinks good value for money good range of meal types traditional and western. Breakfast very good options and plenty plus any special requests catered for. Restaurant close by many different choices and icecream bar just metres away safe area to walk around at night. Both pools clean and nice to swim in amazing view from the sky at pool across the skyline of Phnom Phen

I stayed at Mettavary Hotel during my visit to Phnom Penh and was genuinely impressed. The location is perfect — just a short walk to Bassac Lane, the Royal Palace, and the riverside, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and safe. The room was spacious, beautifully designed in a modern French style, and spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable — one of the best I’ve slept in during my travels in Southeast Asia. The rooftop pool offers amazing views of the city and is a great place to relax after a hot day. There’s also a second pool on the ground floor and a well-equipped gym. Breakfast was tasty and varied, with both Western and Asian options. Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional — they even assisted with transportation and local recommendations. Only minor downside: some street noise from nearby bars at night if your room faces that direction, but this is common in central Phnom Penh and easily solved with earplugs or requesting a room on a higher floor. Overall, Mettavary is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for style, comfort, and convenience in the heart of Phnom Penh. Highly recommended!

The staff are wonderful. Always smiling, friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Love the two pool options and upstairs on the deck with a drink and the pool is a treat. Great location also.
