Very nice apartment, a bit tricky to get up because of the stairs, but it is a very lovely place. Close to city centre, we arrived by train and we had no problem to commute between the city centre and the train station.

Ah... Perugia. The true jewel of Italy. I could write thousands of words about this beautiful city. However, this is supposed to be a review of the apartment! So... the apartment is in the old, historic part of Perugia, about 5 minutes walk from the MiniMetro. Easy to find, but slightly difficult to figure out the right door in the alleyway. We were met by the host, Mr Mauro, who kindly showed us around and then left us to enjoy our stay. I know some reviewers have complained about the steps up to the apartment, but honestly, what do you expect, this is Italy, not the Netherlands. Yes, there are quite a few but that was true of several places we stayed in on this tour, and you are probably going to climb and descend many, many hundreds of steps each day during your visits to Italian towns. The apartment is fitted to the building rather than the other way around, i.e. this is a very old building and the room shapes and sizes are as the building allows. In fact, all the rooms are fine, size-wise. Not huge, but not tiny. We were a group of two couples and there was plenty of space for us. In terms of the important stuff - the apartment was very clean and airy, the kitchen is well equipped and the shower is good, with good water pressure. Technically, there is a second toilet, en suite to one of the bedrooms. If you find the photo showing a sink and, behind that, a washing machine, the en suite toilet is behind the washing machine. This will be very handy if you are no more than 1 metre tall or have worked as a contortionist, but for creaky old people like us, it was ornamental. Location-wise, this is a great location, about 5 minutes walk from the old town centre, through quaint alleys with quite a few restaurants and bars along the way. Did I mention that the old part of Perugia is beautiful? Mr Mauro provided quite a range of packaged food and drinks, which was unexpected and very welcome, though we still chose to buy fresh goods for breakfast.

Mr Mauro the host is a great guy and he tried to accommodate all our needs. The place is in the centre of the Historic Area of Perugia and is exactly as described. Clean and comfortable for a family of 4.
