The room was so spacious and clean. The area was quiet and the staff were very friendly and nice.

This motel is a little north and some distance from the heart of Oamaru. The check in was very pleasant. My room was upstairs and as I climbed them I was disappointed with the grubby appearance and was concerned what the room would be like! The balcony was much the same. The motel room was really large and comfortable, a little outdated but it was clean. I like to cook but the kitchenware was somewhat limited and the frypan would not sit on the element. the beds were comfortable. The motel compendium requires updating as it does not give current information. The bar is large and the bar attendant was great.

We were impressed at the spaciousness of the studio unit, with clearly defined kitchen, sleeping and living areas and plenty of room. By accident, rather than design, NorthStar was immediately adjacent to a church where we were attending a weekend conference. We could walk there through the carpark. That was a bonus!

Quiet at night, huge rooms, especially the bathroom, had a coffee machine in room, comfortable bed, well equipped with lights, desk, coffee table high enough to use for dining plus actual dining table. On-site restaurant that does room service.
