The accommodation was excellent, and the location was amazing — right in the historic area of Nikko. The staff were very friendly and also spoke English.

Right next to the main temple Good onsen indore and outdoor Great traditional breakfast Traditional room sleeping with futon sleeping Good gift shop at the hotel Very helpful lady at the reception. We came late for check-in at 22:00 and she waited for us

This is a great traditional ryokan. I loved the old fashioned ‘retro’ style and hope that it never changes as it is charming. The dinner and breakfast were delicious and beautifully presented. Portions are generous. The onsen facilities are up to date and everything worked well. It was a delight. A relaxing stay.

Very nice Ryokan close to the world heritage site, with public onsen inside. The room is very nice, with tatami so they ask you to be careful on using sandals and carrying luggages. The staff was super friendly, the dinner and breakfast were excellent (we had the vegetarian options). Only mildly negative point, we were there in winter while it was snowing and the temperature in some common spaces was a bit low. After closing the doors, however, it was very comfortable in the room
