Everything was lovely! Diane was always there if you needed something like a new gas bottle for the BBQ. We had chance to do our laundry there and felt welcome and had a great stay there! Thanks Diane!

We had a fantastic week here! The apartment was perfect—clean, comfortable, and surrounded by jungle with birdsong and butterflies. The 30°C pool was a dream. Diane is a wonderful host, generous and attentive. While it’s not by the sea and a bit off the main tourist track, the bus stop is right outside and a top restaurant is just a 10-minute walk away. The stay exceeded our expectations!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Tropical Poolside Retreat on the beautiful Magnetic Island. After 4 months of backpacking across SE Asia & Australia, the Poolside Retreat was hands down the best place we’ve stayed at. The bed was incredibly comfy and the apartment has everything you could possibly need, the hosts had truly thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Diane and her husband were so lovely, welcoming and helpful. The property is conveniently close to the bus stop which takes you around the island if not driving (bus is every hour so does involve some planning which I learnt the hard way). The property is also located down a quiet road, which meant nature came to our doorstep - we were greeted by a wallaby upon arrival and visited by some kookaburra’s during our stay. We only stayed for 2 nights which was not long enough to enjoy the apartment or the stunning island. Tip: make sure to go out into the street at night for some fantastic star gazing!

This is a beautiful home, and Diane the host is very welcoming and hospitable. The facilities are great, there’s a nice pool, and having a washing machine and tumble dryer is very useful. Only slight downside is there were a few ants inside, but not too bad considering the remote location. It feels like you’re in the jungle, but it is actually walking distance to the ferry terminal (20-25 mins), and the bus stop is right outside which is great. I’d highly recommend staying here!
