Absolutely wonderful accomodation directly on the lagoon at Negombo within walking distance of the local beach (not the main tourist Browns beach). The whole villa with two spacious bedrooms and terrace amd balcony upstairs, a large open-plan livingroom/ dining room and kitchen - complete with resident chef and keeper Samy (he has a room at the back of the villa and is happy to cook Sri Lankan or American breakfast - included - and a range of dishes for dinner from the menu at a very reasonable extra price. The neighbour offers a boat trip for 9000 LKR (negotiable) - you can get out and walk around in the shallow laggon waters or swim in the slightly deeper part and approach monkey island to watch the young ones play! Negombo town is a 15 minute tuk tuk ride (ca.1000 LKR) and the airport 25 minutes (ca. 2000 by tuk tuk - ask Samy to book his friend or rhe owner to book a taxi. We r ecommend this driver Rathnaka - based in Kandy but great for any trips around Sri Lanka also from Negombo - he was a fantastic driver and guide - super reliable! Lovely location by the lagoon to chill just before our flight. Sammy was always available and prepared all our meals which made life with 3 young children much easier. The host even provided some toys to keep the kids entertained. They loved waving at the fishermen and sitting on the dock in the mornings.

Sammy was a fantastic host who arranged everything for us in a great manner. Good food and excellent service. Location is great to chill after a long flight.
