jan “Mixed stay, potentially a nice Westin but too many issues”

We stayed July 3–6 with our family of six in three king suites. The location is great (10-min walk to Broadway), rooms are spacious and the beds truly “Heavenly.” But so much went wrong. On arrival, our fully prepaid booking had been cancelled (they blamed Booking.com). It took 30+ minutes before the very friendly Ashanti fixed it. The 27th floor pool is more a crowded oversized hot tub, and the rooftop bar L27 was chaotic, with too few seats and unfriendly staff. Our observations during 3 days. One day our room wasn’t cleaned despite repeated requests. The final bill had serious errors, including missing daily $15 F&B credits (worth $165), which Takunda kindly fixed after an hour of working their computer system. Well,....I still need to check my creditcard statement, so not sure yet. Thanks anyway Takunda, you did more than I could expect. Good to mention: service at Decker & Dyer was excellent. Parking in a garage nearby is pricey and quite a walk; best option is public parking right behind the hotel ($43/day). Overall, I’ve seen better Westins. Management should take this feedback seriously. If you want a real pool, try the JW Marriott next door.

The hotel was beautiful. Staff were extremely nice and the location was fantastic. The room was quiet. And bed was comfortable. The hotel also has a rooftop bar with fantastic views.
