We loved the sense of history at this hotel. The ceiling in our room must have been 5 metres high. And the bar overlooking the garden serves great cocktails amid a retro ambience while the odd deer & fawn stroll by. A concierge called Tanaka-san speaks good English & is very helpful & kind. We ate at the Japanese restaurant & thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I’d recommend booking ahead & getting there early to enjoy the sweeping view. The wait staff were also lovely. Nara hotel is in a perfect position, being close to the major sights while remaining a haven.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of history, the staff is very friendly and helpful. we rented electic bikes and they provided maps and all to explore Nara without issues. We stayed at the traditional Japanesse room, and there couldnt be better place to experience a traditional room, more than Nara Hotel.

Deers come in the morning, you and child can feed them at the room balcony. The experience is quite memorable.

Room was great. It was in the old part with high ceilings and lots of wood. Location was wonderful for exploring Nara - most things were within walking distance.
