James “Nice apartment off the beaten track”

Compact and well equipped apartment in a small hilltop town (which is a good base for exploring some of the neighbouring areas by car). It's on the ground floor of an older building, in a little pedestrianised residential lane. There's no dedicated outside space, so we would leave the door and window open to make it more expansive and let in light, or just take a chair out into the lane to have a coffee. It's a short walk to the town square (where you find the nice cafe at which you get a breakfast of coffee and pastry). There's also a very good local pizzeria just round the corner. Extremely helpful host and excellent value for money. It was thoughtful of our host to ask an English speaking friend to come along when we collected the keys! The bedroom is a platform above the living room. It's a good use of space but you need to be OK with steepish stairs.
