Traveller reviews

“A peaceful, traditional stay with warm hospitality and great amenities.”

The rooms were beautiful with traditional tatami flooring, and the futons were surprisingly comfortable. We really enjoyed the onsen and other facilities—it felt very relaxing. The staff were all so kind and welcoming, which made our stay even better. The shuttle service was also really convenient.

The staff were very accomodating with us checking in late due to transport issues, and were very helpful and kind in general The room was amazing, huge, well furnished, comfortable futons and chairs, everything was top notch The public bath was great It's located close to the ferry but far enough towards the mountains that you aren't in the middle of the busy area

“Very good”

This is an authentic ryokan style hotel, and the staff were very attentive and helpful during our stay. We stayed in a Japanese style bedroom, equipped with tatami mats and futons. The hotel is convenient for the ferry, and we could see the Torii gate and the bay from our bedroom window. We had the kaiseki evening meal in the banqueting hall, which was superb and to be recommended. We also enjoyed using the public baths and making use of the yukatas left in our room. Miyajima is quiet and serene after 5.30pm, so staying the night is a good option for those wanting to enjoy the location without crowds. Overall, it was a relaxing and unique stay.
