Beautiful building to stay in beside Sassi and old town with views all within a two minute walk. It has so much character to it, a real treat.

Location is terrific. A 48 minute walk from the bus. A €15 taxi ride. The local driver like myself could not find it anywhere.. why? Because Booking calls it Stay Matera e sassi... and the door says something else! No one answered any calls from any numberA Miracle- an overworked, tired, angry, and rude housekeeper who came to change sheets at that moment, lucky me threw me the keys and left.

Fabulous location, great kitchen supplies and quantity of crockery, nicely appointed, good communication. Unit had good airflow, bathroom was lovely, small but very handy and useable kitchen. Incredible town, friendly locals, amazing walk into the gorge and view from cathedral as evening my lights came on! Def worth seeing even if no sunset due to clouds! Handy free parking close by.
