Really good coffee. Nina was very helpful and we managed to communicate despite not speaking much Italian. Phrase book & Google translate really handy! Easy walk to historic centre.

This is a good location for visiting Matera if you are not staying in the old town itself. Just a ten minute walk into the old town with all it's facilities but a quiet location to return to. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable and the owner had left the kitchen area well equipped with drinks, snacks and tea and coffee making facilities as well as fresh croissant etc for breakfast. Bonus was parking immediately outside in the apartments private car park. Communication with the owner was good! We enjoyed our stay at Nina's house (the owner was lovely) but we were the only people staying there at the time, there is another room in the apartment which is also rented out next to the room we stayed in with a separate bathroom so I think it could have felt quite different with other people around but it's a very comfortable place to use as a base in Matera.

Lovely host, lovely apartment that was centrally located. Small balcony off of the generously sized bedroom. Breakfast was provided along with full use of the kitchen including tea and coffee making facilities.
