Our stay here was one of the most memorable parts of our time in Sri Lanka. Right in front of the beach, this beautiful lodge was more than just a place to stay—it was a home, filled with warmth, good energy, and unforgettable people. From day one, Che Che and his amazing team made us feel like family. Always smiling, always ready with the best local recommendations, and so genuinely passionate about sharing the story of how he created the lodge—it was inspiring to hear and made our experience even more meaningful. Every detail, from the welcoming atmosphere to the peaceful beachside setting, was just perfect. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return. I spent a week in the two-bedroom apartment with my 70-year-old parents on their first trip to Sri Lanka and we could not have asked for a better experience. Chethana and his team are absolutely incredible—the hospitality, the food, the location, the yoga and HIIT classes… what more could you want? Every detail was taken care of with such warmth and care. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. And as if that wasn’t enough, there were sea turtles swimming just off the beach at the end of the garden. Thank you, team—you truly aced it! We can’t wait to come back.

I had a wonderful stay at Madiha Surf Lodge — so much so that I came back twice! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, thanks to Chetanah and Saskia who clearly put their hearts into this place! The team is super friendly and attentive, creating a relaxed and positive vibe. It really felt like a little oasis. The garden is simply wonderful, offering direct access to the sea and a stunning surf spot! Whether you’re seeking a peaceful spot to relax with a good book or want to soak up the laid-back atmosphere of the café, you’ll always find the perfect place. And the food — it’s fantastic! Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. You can definitely tell how much care goes into the kitchen. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything was spotless and fresh. Madiha Surf Lodge truly feels like a home away from home. Whether you’re here for the waves, to unwind, or to soak up the positive energy, this is the perfect mix of comfort, good energy and genuine hospitality. I’m grateful for the time I spent here and will hopefully come back sometime soon. Absolutely perfect!

Everything was perfect at the Surf Lode Madiha! The apartment was amazing, open on the garden with an ocean view, it allowed us to have privacy, feel comfortable and relax. The location is great in Madiha, Matara, close to everything needed and the lodge itself is so amazing that we’ve spent a lot of time there. The coffee place/restaurant is delicious and the staff is really nice, caring about their customers. You should definitely go there if you’re looking for a nice place to stay in Madiha!
