Simon “Peaceful village villa with a great totally private pool”

The accommodation is very peaceful, spacious, and comfortable. It's easy to make the house feel cool. The pool area is delightful, not overlooked, and the pool is a pleasant temperature to cool off. Nektarios attends the pool early each morning. You have three tavernas in walking distance - one very close. Car hire is essential unless you are happy to stay at the villa and use the three tavernas. Platanes beach is easy to access with ample free parking, Lidl nearby, and travel in to Rethymno is easy once you've sussed out going via the top main road. It's worth popping in to the little chapel in the walkway approach to the villa. We had Polygonia Egea butterflies by the pool (yes I had to look that up!) and Griffon Vultures circling high above.

Nektarios is an excellent host. Nothing was too much trouble and he always responded to emails. The villa is beautifully situated in an old village. The only downside is that we have to leave.

The pool, garden and villa are all great. Perfect weather, perfect location. Nektarios was very warm and welcoming even though our flight was delayed and we arrived late. Photos don't do it justice!
