The place is located in a rather quiet residential neighbourhood about 4.5 kilometres from the railway station. If you are up for some adventure, you can ask around to catch Bus 25, which leaves right outside the railway station, but whose timings and schedule are not known. You need to get off at Mudakathan and navigate your way via Google Maps to the place. Or else you might want to seek the host’s help for a cab or rickshaw. The home stay itself is well maintained and fresh. However, Madurai, as a whole, unfortunately, leaves much to desire in terms of cleanliness. The family that runs the place is very helpful and attentive, who will go out of their way to ensure you have a comfortable stay and time in the city.

We had a great stay with Shawn in Criston Homestay. Shawn is super friendly and welcoming. He was always available for help or recommendations. The room in which we stayed looked nice, simple but clean and comfortable. The common space is nicely decorated. A bus stops almost right in front of the house, that brings you to and from the city center. Around the corner is a bakery where we got our breakfast.
