In the heart of Madalena, super apartment with two large terraces. We spent a week there enjoying all the wonders of Pico. The apartment functioned well, everything was tidy and Carlos wellcomed us very friendly. High recommendation!

First of all we want to thank Alona and Carlos for the hospitality and information and help when we needed it! We loved the location of the apartment, right in the center, just 2 minutes to the ferry. Parking is free just in front of the building. The apartment has a big balcony overlooking the square and the church, nice to hang out on in the evening. Also it has a huge terrace on the other side of the building. This apartment is very spacious and has lots of room voor a larger group. It’s very neat and clean and has everything you need including small thing like tea and coffee and spices.

The apartment is superbly located in the centre of Madalena. There are two outdoor seating areas, including the massive sundeck, which has amazing views over the harbour and ferry terminal, and Faial. The apartment is well equipped, and Carlos had stocked some local produce for us to make us feel welcome. There are 3 large double bedrooms, so if you can make do with just one bathroom/toilet between you, it will certainly sleep 6 comfortably, but possibly better for 2-4. The bars and restaurants, as well as swimming areas, public transport and ferries, are all within walking distance. We used taxis and public transport for the week we were staying, and found no need for a hire car, despite walking frequently at different start points around the island, as the bus service and taxis were good enough for our needs. The one time we did have to prebook was for a 6.30am taxi to the start of Pico mountain start; and we were offered a lift home by another couple in our group.
