Friendly staff, good location (close to both old town and Spreewelten), especially as we arrived by train. The concept of the room decorations was great, it was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast in a nearby hotel was good. Grocery shop and a couple of restaurants in immediate vicinity. We enjoyed the included tickets to Spreewelten.

It is a very nicely furnished and cozy Pension right at the train station. I was afraid of the noise from trains coming every hour, but this was not an issue (plus, they provide earplugs!). Each room is a piece of art made in collaboration with some local artist in a completely different style. The accommodation is apparently subsidized by the city, so there's no proper reception (you need to go to the Deutsche Bahn office), and their work hours are very scarce. Consider this if you might need something extra (for example, I needed a kettle, but it was not provided in the room and impossible to get a hold of it, since the office/reception was closed all weekend). But the staff was friendly and helpful, communicated with us way in advance and prepared everything for a nice stay.

The fact that its a train station makes it unique. No noises, slept very well, clean, good breakfast and great staff especially Paula who answered all my querries before coming. Bonus the free boatride and free entrance to Spreewaltbad.
