We enjoyed the quiet countryside where Quinta de Vale Escuro is located and the beautiful property. We also enjoyed the swimming pool each afternoon. Our hosts were very accommodating, despite our language challenges. Thank goodness for Google Translate! One last note - our previous accommodation was canceled by the host due to illness, and this booking was accepted with only one hour notice. We are very grateful for that!

Decent-sized and well appointed rooms, the bed was quite comfortable. Access to a common living room and a relatively well appointed kitchen. Amazing pool and grounds, with cozy little nooks and plenty of greenery. Away from city bustle, but still central enough to radiate to important sites (Conimbriga roman ruins, Coimbra, Piodão, Aveiro, that we got to visit). Maria and her husband only speak Portuguese, but the essential info was given and they were very welcoming. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious!
