Lodges Overview

Boasting an outdoor swimming pool, free BBQ facilities and a free airport shuttle, Saltbush Retreat is a 3 minutes’ drive from Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Qantas Founders Museum. The self contained accommodation offers free transfers from airport, train and bus stations on request.
Each air-conditioned room includes a well-equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, a microwave, a stove and an electric kettle. It also has a flat-screen TV, a DVD player, a seating area and ironing facilities. The private bathroom has a shower and a hairdryer.
The luxurious 4.5 star Homestead Stable and 4 star Pioneer Slab Hut rooms have private use of the bath terrace. All other rooms are 3.5 stars and have access to the shared swimming pool, BBQ and laundry facilities.
The on-site tour desk can arrange a variety of local sightseeing tours and activities.
Saltbush Retreat is a 25-minute walk from Longreach.

There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a bunk and day-bed in the living area. Please note the bunk beds are not suitable for adults or tall teenagers. There is no capacity for additional guests. Please note this lodge is not one of the heritage-inspired 4-star Pioneer Slab Huts or 4.5-star Homestead Stables.

This renovated lodge is air-conditioned and features a patio with lovely garden views. It includes a well-equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, a microwave, a stove and an electric kettle. It also has a flat-screen TV, a DVD player, a seating area and ironing facilities. The private bathroom has a shower and a hairdryer. Maximum occupancy is 6 guests, being 4 adults and 2 children, or 2 adults and 4 children. Please note this lodge is not one of the heritage-inspired 4-star Pioneer Slab Huts or 4.5-star Homestead Stables.

This luxurious studio room features traditional outback building techniques and recreates an early settler's home. It includes a canopied bed, kitchenette, TV, DVD player, air-conditioning and your own verandah. Parking is in a separate park adjoining the Pioneer Slab Hut complex.

This luxurious room recreates the outback stable-boy's accommodation but with deluxe 4.5-star comfort. It features air conditioning and a well-equipped kitchen plus many authentic outback touches. A flat-screen TV and DVD player are included. Parking is behind the stable blocks.

Our best stay on our Outback road trip. The room was fabulous, comfortable king size bed and great bathroom. Everything was perfect. We loved it and will definitely be back.
