I’ve stayed in 100s of hotels, and The Milestone is, without doubt, the most pleasant I’ve ever stayed at. Following the refurbishment of the bar area and at least some of the rooms, it is truly excellent. Fabulously helpful staff combined with classy but not gaudy decor, makes it a wonderfully relaxing environment.

The service of all the staff was impeccable. They were very helpful and it is the first time I have been charged for service that I did not begrudge ! I feel quality of food could improve , the bacon , black pudding were not excellent but passable. Smoked middle bacon dry cured is much better. In room dining was disappointing too. So we ate out after that and had breakfast min the room. That is critic not that it effected our stay too much
