Incredible host family. They insisted on meeting me at the airport to make sure that I was safe, even though I arrived in a late flight. They even shared the taxi fare back to the apartment with me. Judith took me around the neighborhood to buy a local SIM card and to get all the provisions that I needed from the best value shops. She gave me a metro card and a Lima pass for the bus that I could charge with cash and use while I was there and offered to take me sightseeing, if I needed help. She told me which bus to take and asked the driver to tell me where to get off. I could barely have asked for more and really felt like it was a second home. The apartment was basic, but had just about everything that could possibly be needed, including a rice cooker, a blender, a grater, a juice press, an iron and ironing board, a very good cooker with 4 hobs and oven and a large fridge freezer, washing up liquid and sponges, kitchen towels, tea towels, enough pots and pans to cook any meal and enough cutlery and crockery for two people. I've rented hundreds of apartments in dozens of countries and this one had the most facilities out of all of them. There was hot water in the shower which could also be used to fill the bathroom sink, which had a plug. There was a bowl for washing clothes and a drying rack and a bucket and mop to clear up any spills. It was also a very good price for what was provided. There were lots of electrical sockets in the bedroom, including lots near the bed. The bed was comfortable and the was a huge flat screen TV in the bedroom. There was a bin in every room, which is rare, but very useful. There was a strong WiFi signal throughout the apartment and plenty of furniture.
