Bruce “A Very Nice House to Stay in an Excellent Location”

This was the first time I planned to stay in the South of France for 5 weeks or more in the winter. I was really pleased with my selection of place to stay. I was fairly familiar with the area having visited the South of France regularly since 1969 but I could not have anticipated how good this place turned out to be. The house itself was excellent with plenty of space and very well equipped with all you could need. The hosts were friendly, flexible and very helpful throughout my stay. The location is absolutely ideal. Whilst being just outside a very small village it is actually just 5 minutes away from a key junction in the Toll Motorway network with easy fast access to Nice in the East and Toulon and Marseille in the West. In the summer I usually end my slow tour South with several days in Le Lavandou on the coast between Hyres and St Tropez so the house was in the ideal location for a regular trip down and around or over the top of the mountains to Le Lavandou for lunch. Trips to St Tropez were just as easy and heading North the spectacular landscapes of the Verdon Gorge were within easy reach. A number of small towns are within a 20 minute drive although some of the roads are tricky at night. Lorgues has a wonderful Market and lots of Restaurants and a couple of supermarkets. I would highly recommend this as an excellent place to stay and base your explorations of the Var and South of Provence.
